PRODUCTS
Caledon
Using the latest in processing technology, RA Irwin have created the Caledon yarn which, when woven, gives a soft, full and natural appearance to the final ticking product. Caledon yarn also enables the subtle blending of several colours thereby giving a desirable upholstered look for border applications.
The new environmentally friendly system of finishing the fabric by laminating a soft backing onto the damask, enhances the design definition and colour and offers a consistently good feel to the ticking fabric. Various weight options for the laminated backings are now available, creating a heavier fabric with reduced show through on light colours or unlined bases.
Killarney
Killarney is a high quality damask fabric. Its distinctively silky appeal is created by using selected two-fold viscose yarns. Killarney is a traditional damask of uncompromising quality, available in an extensive choice of designs from classic to contemporary. As such, Killarney is a versatile fabric and can be suited to a wide range of mattresses.
Softbond Mayo and Meath
The Softbond range of Mayo-Meath fabrics from RA Irwin is a new generation of mattress ticking designed to offer a combination of softness and high seam-slippage performance. The new environmentally friendly system of finishing the fabric by laminating a soft backing onto the damask, enhances the definition and colour of the woven design, even when using open constructions.
SOFTBOND KNIT-LOOK
Softbond knit-look ticking from R A Irwin is woven using micro-denier yarns with 3 times more filaments than conventional yarns which increases wickability, effectively allowing perspiration and moisture to pass through. This contributes to a fresher, cooler sleeping environment.
Sleeping conditions improve to the extent that unfriendly germs, bacteria and mites cannot thrive. Furthermore the knit effect of this ticking offers an inviting, sumptuously soft and comfortable sleeping surface.
Softbond Knit-look allows fabric movement and flexibility which is ideal for creating mattresses containing memory foam and latex fillings. As a woven fabric, it has good stability and excellent tailoring properties.
